The Kestrel 5400FW Fire Weather Meter offers all the same measurements and capabilities as the standard Kestrel 5400 Heat Stress Tracker, making it ideal for athletic, occupational, and heat safety monitoring — while also providing powerful additional tools specifically for wildland firefighting.

Just like the 5400, the 5400FW measures and reports temperature, humidity, wind speed, and WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature) for accurate heat stress and environmental monitoring in sports, military, and industrial settings.

In addition, the 5400FW includes advanced fire-weather features such as Fine Dead Fuel Moisture (FDFM) and Probability of Ignition (PIG) — critical indices used by wildland firefighters to evaluate ignition risk and fire behavior potential in the field.
