Kestrel 1000 Pocket Wind Speed Meter

I have an Airstream Interstate 19 and do a lot of traveling, and I love this thing.
I’m kind of a weather geek anyway in fact, I’m old now and if I had to do it all over again I’d be a meteorologist?
Unfortunately, that’s not possible but if anybody is reading this, that is young, do what you love because life is short believe me!
I’m sure people told me that when I was young but unfortunately I didn’t listen probably just like all young people that read this message
Maybe young people are different now than when I grow up in the 60s don’t really know
But if you like the weather and how it works, think about it.
It looks like it could be a lot of fun
And have as much fun as you can before the inevitable
Great product I love no one will put the wind speed is where I go
Sometimes the weather people don’t get it right but this is right there right now
It’s good to know how hard the wind blowing
Especially when I use my roll out canopy

I did my research and decided I wanted a Kestrel 1000.
I found it for sale on the Extreme Meters web site and the price was the
same as Amazon and they both had generous return policies so I ordered it from
Extreme Meters. I ordered it on Monday and received it on Saturday.
I received an email notice when I ordered it, when it was shipped and when I
received it. And it was just what I wanted. I have not used it much yet,
I plan to use it on my boat.
So it was all good.

We’ve only begun to use it - getting basic data on blower output from our AC unit and on our sailboat to view wind speed at deck level. Wind speeds look reasonable, but we have limited data we can use as a control. A readout that is a little larger, thus easier to read, would be better.

I rely on the Kestrel 1000 anemometer for monitoring wind speed on my yacht rather than a fixed mast mounted unit as i dont have to worry about birds sitting on it or chewing the cable.

This is my second Kestrel 1000 (I left my last one with my previous boat) and I had no hesitation in purchasing another. I have found them accurate, reliable, easy to use, compact and robust. The impeller is easy to replace when needed and I have a spare as I am located in a remote location.

I have also used the intrinsically safe Kestrel 1000 anemometer in underground coal mine airflow monitoring where the quality, accuracy, ease of use and compact size made it an ideal tool for these critical measurements.

Highly recommended.

Appreciated receiving the Kestrel 1000 in 2-3 days so that important measurements could be made in a narrow time window of opportunity. The unit worked well and quantitatively showed that there was a problem with room ventilation which we subsequently diagnosed. Having good air velocity data to back up conclusions was important in convincing others.

g his little meter is just perfect for what I need. Nothing more and nothing less. It's so simple to operate and so small that I carry it everywhere. This is one amazing little meter. It's sensitivity is so accurate which is essential to the things I use it for. Keep up the great work, the great products and of course the great service.

I was so glad to find a product made in the USA! I need it to determine wind speed when I spray pesticides . It is more accurate than looking on my phone for the National Weather Service reading 25 miles from me.

I purchased four of the kestrel 1000 wind meters and so far they are working great. The digital read out is clear and the 1000 gets the exact wind speed flawlessly every time. The 1000 was very economical as well, I am sure I will purchase more of this product, as well as the more advanced models. Very good design and light weight very useable.

Strait forward easy to use field wind meter

Ever since I received my compact Kestrel 1000 about three weeks ago, i never go out flying my RC planes without it. Definitely a high quality, reliable, cool looking and rugged portable wind gauge. This Kestrel product makes a rookie RC Flyer like me look like a PRO out on the flying field. . .
